Edgar Hidalgo has been the coordinator and instructor for the California State University’s Legal Interpretation Program in Fullerton for the past 6 years. He has also taught interpreting courses at the University of California Legal Interpretation Program in Riverside. Half of his life, he lived in South America, where he finished high school and attended college. He studied at California State University, Long Beach, where he obtained two degrees: a BA in Translation & Interpretation Studies and a BA in Spanish. Mr. Hidalgo also has a Master's degree in Spanish Literature & Linguistics from CalState University at Fullerton. 

He initially became a Certified California State Medical Interpreter and worked several years as a staff interpreter both at Long Beach Memorial Hospital & Children’s Hospital of Orange County and in the private sector, as a freelance Medical Interpreter. After becoming certified by the Judicial Council of California as a Court Interpreter, he worked as a freelance interpreter for the private sector. Later, he became employed for the County of San Bernardino as a staff interpreter, a position he has held for the past 9 years. Mr. Hidalgo is an active member of interpreter organizations such as NAJIT (National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators) and CFI (California Federation of Interpreters). His works have been presented in national interpreter conferences and his educational material for interpreter training will be published in the near future.
